Helene believes in rescue. She has volunteered with several rescue organizations in the Capital District over the 25 years she has lived there including Animalovers and Out of the Pits. Her and her husband have fostered and adopted a number of dogs including two pit bulls as their beloved family members. They both enjoy sharing their experiences adopting, fostering, and working with rescue. They believe too many dogs are dying every week and there are so many wonderful dogs to choose from.

Currently, Paul and Helene share their home with Petey, CGC, ATD,  a boxer mix adopted from Rottie Empire Rescue and Archie, a rough coated Jack Russell Terrier adopted from Jacks Galore in Massachusetts!

Helen of Troy, CGC, TT, TD Inc.

The late Helen of Troy was a deaf pit bull rescued by 3 organizations working together; Pets Without People, Out of the Pits, and Animal Farm Foundation. She was a certified therapy dog who loved everyone!

Chester Bighead, CGC, TT

The late Chester was a pit bull who was adopted from MHRHS when he was a starving demodectic puppy. He grew to be quite the brindle hunk and gave Helene and her husband years of pleasure on the agility field and in their home.
